[ When heading back to the kid's tv set after talking to Junpei, Aoi is a lot more subdued than he had been before. While it's true that he's been tired and upset whenever he spends time away from here today, whenever he gets here he's back to smiles and brightness in his eyes... but not so the case this time. He's thinking too hard about the things that were said and worrying about them.

Fuck Junpei and fuck his perceptions of everything, but most of all fuck Aoi's self confidence because it wasn't always the greatest at saving himself.

He's carrying a basket of food and he drops it on the floor when he gets inside, speaking wearily. ] Hey... I'm back.

[ Corrin had promised he'd be here when Aoi returned, and so he did. It was the least he could do for being very difficult for Aoi tonight after that...

So he felt his heart skip a beat when the other finally returned. He looked ready to rush to him into a hug, but he noticed how subdued Aoi looked. He instead comes over to extend his arms to offer a hug in greeting, smiling that gentle smile he is known for. He is concerned... ]

Welcome back. I'd wait for as long as needed.

....Ah, is something the matter? You don't seem... yourself before you left.

[ Aoi looks at him for a second, still caught in his thoughts, before accepting the offer of a hug and stepping into his arms. He brings his hands up to the back of Corrin's shirt and holds on tightly. ]

You're too nice to me...

[ What an odd thing to comment in return. He says it slowly, as if he's mulling over the words. ]

If 'being too nice' meant my wanting to see you happy, then it's something I will deal with being told. [ He begins rub a soothing circle on Aoi's back at the tight grip. He frowns at that.]

What brought that up? I'm curious...

See me happy? You really mean it...

[ Aoi is musing over those words too. He pulls back a little and looks at Corrin's face, his lips forming a trace of a smile. It's a very hesitant smile. ]

Make you a deal: kiss me, then I'll tell you.

[ Unaware for now, he could not help but chuckle at that. ] Fair enough. Consider it done.

[ If Aoi had a hesitant one, then Corrin's was a genuine one. He closed their distance to reach for Aoi's chin for eyes to meet. Perhaps it was their height, but pulling his chin to look at him was not a drastic height difference like it was with Niles.

He still was new to this territory, only had his first kiss a while ago. But... he does what he remembered. He closes his eyes to lean forward and press his lips against Aoi's.]

[ Aoi sighs into the kiss and moves his lips gently against Corrin's. This is something he's wanted for so very long, to kiss Corrin softly and hold him close. The tight hold is back as he presses his body's up against the prince's. He'll let Corrin decide when the kiss stops, he's being clingy and indulgent. Maybe a little trying to put off having to explain himself, too. ]

[ Corrin's arms wrap around Aoi's shoulders and neck as he accepted the other's tight hug. He might be as hesitant as Aoi to pull away. He hoped a more intimate hug brought some comfort.

Until now? Corrin never thought he'd have a chance to do this with anyone. To love people with his life. Yet here he was.

He hums in content as he enjoyed a moment longer of this warmth. He only pulled back to catch his breath. His forehead moved to lay against Aoi's. ]

I hope these are ok for you..? [Sheltered prince may not have much experience as another person might at kissing but he does so with gentleness and earnestly to make the other person feel good. ]

[ The smile that Aoi gives him now is much more genuine. The kiss helped, it really did. Sometimes what is needed to fix a situation is physical communication... that's not to say it's not still a good idea to talk, but it was a good start. ]

I've never been kissed as nicely as you do it. It's usually something like rough... I could definitely get used to this.

[ Then what Junpei said flashes in his mind and he falters a bit again, sighing. ]

I hope to make it a better experience for you, in that case. [Another gentle smile before giving a more playful kiss on Aoi's nose while he got to be this close.

Goodness, Corrin's an affectionate one. That and he noticed that sigh and his concern only increased. ]

...How are you feeling? [About after the whole thing earlier. About surviving another day. About... anything right now, really. ]

Pretty good? About this. But then I talked to an asshole and he tried to ruin it. [ Aoi tries to take on a dismissive tone, but he fails. ] I shouldn't have let him get to me. I'm just used to things fucking up or going away... I'm afraid something's going to happen to this too, you know?

[ That was more than he meant to admit, and all in a rush. He hides his face against Corrin's shoulder. ]

[ Taken a back a bit by the sudden face buried into his shoulder, he was silent for a moment, but that was short lived.

He hums a comforting noise as he tilted his head to let his cheek meet white hair and began to nuzzle against Aoi's head.]

You really are putting yourself out there for this... I had no idea. I also am doing so and I can promise you that.

As long as I am here, what I feel won't change. I'm sure he was just worried for what's best for you?

[ Santa snorts. ] We don't get along that well. He tolerates me because we both care about my sister. I have no idea why I listen to him.

[ It was a modern mystery. But what isn't a mystery is that Aoi is starting to feel better and while he still holds on, it's not with quite as much of a death grip. ]

I appreciate that promise. [ He lifts his head and looks Corrin in the eyes, resting their foreheads together. ] Can I... tell you something you already know?

Perhaps because You both have a similar goal... Protecting your sister. I think he wants that reassurance that you're still on his personal team for that. [ Or at least that's what Corrin can make out from what he's given. There's probably more to it than just that.

Before he could ask more, he blinked at Aoi at the question, a curious expression across his face. ]

Oh? What is it?

Yeah. I know he needs that.

[ Aoi gets a strange look on his face before he looks very, very serious. He's about to say something he's said rarely to anyone and is very hard for him to admit, but he trusts Corrin with it. Corrin knows, anyway, so... he might as fucking well. ]

I think I love you.

[ He wishes to ask more, but then those words were said.

Maybe he is aware of how much he cared for by this other man. He is aware of the willingness to still be with him despite the exchange of feelings, earlier. But that's change how Corrin was taken aback from it. To actually HEAR IT...

He's blinking away moisture in his eyes as he leans his face to nuzzle into Aoi's shoulder. Isolation never prepared him for this, so pardon him that he's all thumbs about this while thing. ]

I'm so glad to get to actually hear the words... Really. I feel like what I do won't be enough to show you how I feel for you.
