They're not malicious, but being saddled with them is not helping my odds.

Most of them seem too innocent to be smart.

[ Lets the puppy lick and pats her gently on the head with his other hand. ]

Dad's way too concerned with his kids to play the game right. The guy's gonna get dead soon if nobody hotels him, or someone's going to die because of him.

Haru's nice but she's way too innocent and she's going to die soon just because she doesn't know how to play. Yuzu's been through shit, you might be able to use her if you figure it out right. But I don't know anything about that other guy.

That's about the gist of it. I've made them all agree not to march off to their death trying to escape, for whatever little that's worth, but they're incompetent and they're dragging me down with them.

"Dad" is the worst of the lot, because he's made it very clear where his loyalties lie, and it is definitely not with the rest of us. In fact I almost booted him last round. Ended up spending the extra vote to save that worthless idiot Matt Engarde, don't ask me why.

He's definitely outlived his usefulness. He's a good workhorse but he's only good for his kids and if that's going to get one of my allies killed, I'd rather not bank on that. If you need help getting him in the hotel, I'm here for it, as long as I don't have to kill someone more important to get him there.

[ Glances up at him from the floor. ]

Obviously. And I haven't asked, but I doubt they would be. Earlier, Haru tried to cheer me up with this speech about teamwork and being there for each other... I was so stressed out I actually laughed at her. Couldn't help myself.

[He doesn't turn to meet that glance. Unlike its master, though, the puppy decides to venture out from its hiding place.]

God, Haru. She can talk about teamwork when she starts earning votes. I like her a lot but she's going to die and even my team knows it.

[ Pauses for a moment. ]

Bargie's out. You feel well enough for a visit from her?

...Yeah, it'll probably shut her up if I give her some attention.

[ Stands up and picks up Bargie, setting her gently on the end of the bed. ]
