[ Aoi had left team D's set under the guise of going to get food, but been gone more than a little too long. He returns about an hour later, with the promised food in his hands but a slightly stricken, distracted sort of look on his face. ]

Don't mind that, at all. I'm glad, actually. I was beginning to wonder if your wounds have gotten to you, too.

[ He was stroking Niles' hair and slowly moved away from the sleeping man to take the food from Aoi to set it down for later. He was frowning at how Niles' breathing looked labored but nonetheless, his husband was breathing and ok... That he knows of. And hopes so. ]

We can always try waking him when we're ready to. But, first... [He did notice how distracted Aoi looked. INCREASING CONCERN.]

Did something happen while you were out there? You can talk to me, love...

No, they didn't - I'm alright. [ That's sort of wrong because most of his bandages desperately need changing, but he's not even paying attention to that. ] But I kind of got myself into hot water, uh.

[ He glances at Niles and then tugs Corrin farther away from the bed so there's a little more distance. ] Let's try not to wake him up.

[ It's ok. Corrin is in a lot of pain and very lethargic from blood loss, himself, but... WORRIED ABOUT YOU TWO IS HIS PRIORITY.

I went and talked to Simon because I knew he was going to go for a hotel pass. I said all sorts of stuff I didn't mean because I wanted to find out what he was going to do so I could make sure we wouldn't be caught in it. [ His nose wrinkles and his cheeks flush, he's pretty annoyed and ashamed of actually. ] But it kind of backfired on me...

[ His hand tightens around Corrin's. ]

Now he wants my help carrying on the bid. And then I ran into Maya and she wants my help carrying her bid if she gets it. And they both expect it and I don't know what the hell to do or say here.

[ Well.... That's not good. Especially Simon, as the person he and Niles stabbed who might not appreciate this...]

That also depends. Do you know what either of them will do with the pass if they get it let alone if they are bidding against either of us?

All I know is Simon wants to set a fire and take one to three people out with it. He named specific victims, which means it's all that much more dangerous, because if I warn them off he's going to know who did it. He wants me to lure these people to him.

[ He's turning white as he says that. He doesn't like the idea at all. ]

No, so at least there's that. I don't have to tell you who they are, I don't want you to weigh down with that knowledge too. You've got enough.

[ But then, how is the rest of this not weighing Corrin down? The sudden realization is a bit horrible and he lets go of his hand. ]

You're alright, Aoi. You have nothing to be sorry for. A lot of what happened to me was brought on by myself.
