newlydead r2 - day 8 - 6 999s and 3 ushiromiyas

[ It's the morning after the Battle of the Bands and time for another meeting. Breakfast is a thing this time as well. Santa's tried to make something pretty decent but it's hard when all you have is shit from fast food places. Still, if you know your hacks, McCrepes are totally possible. So, there's a bunch of those on the conference table this time, accompanied by coffee. ]

Let's do this shit, huh? No squabbling this time, we did enough of that the last go around.

[Raising hand.]

Well, Ronove said he would vote for me next round if I voted for him this round, so I'm biased to keep him. On the other hand, I've still had trouble getting someone to vote for me in the meantime...

If you want to keep it a secret instead of putting it forth for the community... My opinion is personally Sophie. Since it should probably be used on someone who doesn't have a vote. And I think she's really tired of this game... but she hasn't played it up like "not getting my grand prize is really bad". Meanwhile, I think Aku is really likely to receive zero votes without anyone objecting much.

Yes, non-reciprocal voting is a difficult proposition when nobody has multiple votes. Each person in the chain of votes would pass along the risk of dying while selflessly voting for someone whose vote is engaged elsewhere--whoever is last in that chain when the music stops, so to speak, is simply out of luck. I imagine few people would agree to such a risk, unless they wanted to martyr themselves. Or perhaps unless they were offered a hotel pass.

In the meantime, I'll certainly consider Sophie. I would prefer to keep it quiet for the moment--I've been trying to avoid drawing attention to myself to the extent that that's possible.

It'll be really rough if more of the vote distributions are all ones... I mean, in that case, what are we gonna do when some member of the group has earned zero votes? Of course, we have a decent pass of trying for a hotel pass relative to some other people, but still. I don't like the idea of always ignoring whoever earns zero votes... especially if there are all these obstacles to coordinating everyone, it's basically letting the gamemakers decide who dies.

Do you think you'll try to meet with Sophie or anyone? If she actually doesn't want to go and freaks out but you still think it's the best decision to go through with it, I don't get the impression she can run very fast.

I wouldn't want to ignore whoever has no votes either, but there aren't really any good options under the circumstances.

I probably should meet with Sophie, if only to ensure that she hasn't already made some sort of arrangements for herself. It would be a shame to waste the pass.

Yeah, that's true. You don't want to walk in on her while she's cutting off her own hand.

I hope nobody will be cutting off their own hand, but perhaps that's overly optimistic.

I think it won't happen, but I'm not being optimistic so much as... not too many people have volunteered to go to the hotel.
