[ He buries his face against Corrin's shoulder for a moment, then AOi resurfaces to press a kiss against his forehead. ]

[ His smile looked more forced at that. He comes up to hug Aoi tighter against him.

He... can't help but agree with Aoi that he wished they met without the concept of one of them possibly not being here for long. But that's not what Aoi needs to hear. ]

[ Aoi's face crumples into a frown at that. He clings on as tightly as possible. ]

[He tries to be comforting as he hummed and began to rub soothing circles on Aoi's back.]

[ Just as before, Aoi buries his face against Corrin's shoulder, but this time it's to hide the fact that his eyes are suddenly wet from what Corrin is saying. He doesn't want this to be obvious but his breath is choked in his throat, so that just makes it obvious after all, dammit. ]

[And he heard it. And felt the moisture on his shoulder. The prince raises a hand to run it gently through that surprisingly soft white hair and his other arm remained wrapped around Aoi.]

[ Aoi tries his very, very best not to cry on Corrin's shoulder, to keep this to just a few tears, but he ends up doing so. He manages to mumble some form of 'I love you too' and his shoulders shake as he clings. ]

[ Trying to talk is hard and he probably doesn't make much sense, but those are the words he's trying to say. ]

[Ok, now he's concerned. He didn't mean for this; to make Aoi upset. Corrin frowns and moves so Aoi is in his lap and begins to rock them both a bit, in hopes to comfort him.

[ Aoi is comforted somewhat by that, but then something occurs to him and he starts laughing through his tears, which is not actually a good thing. It's a bad kind of laughter and he puts his hands over his mouth to try to stop it. Good lord, he must sound like he's having a mental breakdown, he thinks! ]

[And he definitely notices that. NOW he is getting more and more worried by the second. That laughter through crying was unsettling him, but he soes his best to stay composed for the other.]

What is it? Did I do something? Please try to talk to me...

[ Aoi scrubs his hand over his face and tries to catch his breath, concentrating on calming down the tears. PUSH THEM DOWN PUSH THEM DOWN he chants at himself mentally, and tries bringing up a poem to concentrate on. He starts muttering the words under his breath.

It's helping and he looks Corrin in the eye finally, his face wet but at least he's not weirdly laughing anymore. ]

I'm sorry, I'm just... [ He hiccups. ] I'm just fucked up, okay? I guess that's obvious now.

[Oh, Aoi...

Corrin will lean up to kiss a remaining tear away that he sees on a cheek.]

[ Aoi can't help but smile slightly, momentarily, at the kiss. He gives on in return to Corrin's lips. ]

Do you think you'll be alright? [After just now and about your 'friend'. Doting Corrin is doting. ]

Yeah, I'll be okay. [ He scrubs at his face with his sleeve, and once it's dry, the old smile is back. ] Cuz of you.

[ Which is almost depressing in itself, considering the previous thoughts, but... he refuses to let it get him down. ]
